Here’s how it works:
If your child wants to get started in theatre or wants to get more training/performance experience then Youth Works Showtime is the place to go! You will get cast in the play, rehearse and perform in a professional production in the McMillin Black Box Theatre or on our beautiful main stage at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts!
Charlotte’s Web (Black Box)
Ages 8 to 17
Directed and Adapted by Jim Gradillas
Life in the Zuckerman barn is hardly ordinary. Young Fern Arable joins Charlotte, the scholarly spelling spider, Wilbur, the life-loving pig, and the whole farm clan in this endearing tale that proves, as Wilbur says, "Friendship is one of the most important things in the world."
Workshop begins: September 29th (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm) Performances: November 6th through November 15th . Fridays, Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 1:30pm
Life as Joby (Black Box)
Ages 11 and up only
Written and Directed by Jim Gradillas
Now, you can be part of the Arizoni award winning play about a young man battling with his inner conscious to fight alcoholism.
Workshop Begins: December 8th (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm) There will be a Christmas Break from the workshop on the last two weeks of December) Workshop Resumes: January 5th. Performances: January 29th through February 7th. Fridays, Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 1:30pm
The Frog Prince(Main Stage)
Ages 8 to 17
Adapted from the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, The Frog Prince combines slapstick, movement and comedy with the story of a young prince who has been turned into a frog by an evil witch. Add to the cast of characters a young princess whom no one can understand because she, too, lives under a witch's spell, three crazy frogs, a solemn king and a silly court jester.
Workshop Begins: March 23rd (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm) Performances on our MAIN STAGE: May 11th and 12th at 7pm
